My name is Alexander Leon. I was born in 1984, within the state lines of New Jersey.
Since I was young I've always had an interest in art and was constantly drawing. For instance, I'd draw the characters for videogame and story ideas I'd come up with. I also remember creating some rudimentary animations, using pads of Post-it notes as flip-books and eventually doing some stop-motion work using the family video camera with clay models and toys. In High School, I discovered a wonderful computer program that, at the time, was known as Macromedia Flash, in which I could create animations. I became a self-trained Flash artist, as my school didn't have any classes that taught the program. However, I still would use it for school projects whenever possible. The program allowed me to combine my illustrative skills with my interest in filmmaking. I did a lot of work in the school's TV production facility, learning video editing and the like. In the summer of 2003, after graduating from High School, I attended the New York Film Academy to gain experience with filmmaking. After the film program I decided to pursue a career in art, majoring in illustration at Montclair State University, School of Art. College let me get some much needed experience with life drawing, which I feel is such a vital necessity for any artist. I graduated in 2007. Resume available upon request.
